-
We have a quarterly maintenance contract with Automated Gates & Equipment.
-
Main control boxes are located on the left wall next to gate when leaving.
-
The box nearest the gate controls telephone access (Qwest is the service provider for this and the reference phone # is 206-720-1227).
-
The left hand box contains the timer (gray plastic box with a clear plastic cover). This is used for automatically opening the gate on garbage days or whenever.
-
There is a toggle switch under the second box that when flipped will open the gate and keep it there until switch is reversed (there is a small delay after switch is flipped).
-
When the gate gets stuck in the open position a few of us have a key that unlocks the gate arm mechanism to allow manual closing. After reinstalling and locking arm mechanism gate should again function.
-
There is only one sensor that keeps the gate open after it has been activated…..a light beam just outside the gate with a sensor on the left when leaving and a reflector on the right (important that no foliage blocks this function). If the gate is open and one doesn’t go far enough to break the beam it will time out and close….don’t stop in the plane of the gate!
-
The approach to the gate on the inside has a sensor pad in the ground that activates the gate to open when a vehicle drives on it. If a vehicle sits on this pad too long the gate will atomically close and not function again until the vehicle backs off the pad.
-
Changing or adding gate entrance codes either permanently or temporarily must be manually input…need to learn this from Rod or the gate company.
-
Call Automated Gates to get a remote control.
-
Each residence needs to provide the phone number they want the gate phone to call when someone wishes to enter….must be manually input and only one number allowed (again need to learn from Rod or the gate company).
-
The names on the roster at the gate terminal also need to be manually input….again from Rod or the gate company.
